Carol Disipio, a woman of pure beauty, inside and out. Gone too fast and to young. Wishing she was back in my Mommom's kitchen making tomato jelly and laughing with tears of joy. She smelled like Charlie perfume, that was always her scent. She welcomed anyone with open arms. She was a kind and well respected woman. Her and my mommom were as close as close gets. They had an incredible bond and they did everything together. One of Carol's favorite places to go with my mommom is shady maple and she loved every second of it. Carol collected little "nick-nacks" and she had them all over her house. She also loved cats, she had quite a few of them. Crocheting was her favorite. She made all kinds of things, like dresses and matching outfits for dolls or scarves. She even made crochet place mats. Carol has two brothers named Jimmy and David and one sister named linda, which is my mommom. Carol also has two kids named Ron and Roxanne. She loved kids, all ages because they made her happy. She has grandkids and a handful of nieces and nephews. One summer, mid-July, aunt Carol paid us a visit. I remember walking into my Mommom's kitchen and seeing my aunt carol and my Mommom standing at the counter cutting those sweet tomatoes for their special "tomato jelly." "You would hear them laughing from a mile away." My uncle Rob (Carol's husband), would be sitting in the living room making my little brothers laugh with mesmerizing "magic tricks" he got off of YouTube. When the tomato jelly was done, we would go into the kitchen and try it, man was it good, especially on the sarcone roll they served it on! She made everyone's day better, just by smiling. She had the biggest heart and she loved Neil Young. The best time she ever had with us, is when she would come over in the summer and take a dip in our backyard pool. It didn't take much for her to be happy. Just being around her family and taking a swim was the best you could give her. Living in Philadelphia, she did not get to experience (later in life) everything that my family does, because of her tiny backyard, packed together row homes, and her environment. When I was younger, I used to go over her house and have a sleepover. We would walk down to the corner store together and she would let me pick out a piece of candy and a cute five dollar pockabook. The last vacation my mommom and my aunt carol had together, was when they went on a weekend trip to Jim Thorpe. I have never seen two women more happier. Toes in the sand, no burden resting on their shoulders. Even if it’s only a few minutes, or even just seeing the picture of them trying to take a “selfie” in the hotel mirror and the joy you saw in their faces. These memories, I will never forget.
